Set Up Desktop File Sync

Until NuQloud has its own branded desktop sync app, use the compatible Nextcloud Files desktop app.

Use your NuQloud server address and NuQloud login. The app may say Nextcloud, but it connects to NuQloud.

What Desktop Sync Does

• Keeps selected folders synchronized between your computer and NuQloud.
• Uploads local changes automatically.
• Downloads cloud changes automatically.
• Helps back up important work folders.
• Can provide desktop notifications for related cloud activity.

Install the App

1. Download the compatible desktop sync app from the official client download page.
2. Install it for your operating system.
3. Open the app.
4. Enter your NuQloud server address.
5. Sign in with your NuQloud account.
6. Choose which folders to sync.

Supported Desktop Systems

The compatible desktop sync app is available for:

• Windows.
• macOS.
• Linux.

Check the official download page for current operating system version requirements.

Choose What to Sync

During setup, you may be asked whether to sync everything or choose folders.

Choose folders if:

• Your NuQloud storage is larger than your computer drive.
• You only need certain folders locally.
• You use one computer for work and another for personal files.

Sync everything if:

• Your cloud files are small enough to fit locally.
• You want a full local backup.
• You want offline access to everything.

Sync a Specific Local Folder

Use this when you want a local folder, such as Documents or Projects, to sync with NuQloud.

1. Open the desktop sync app settings.
2. Add a folder sync connection.
3. Choose the local folder on your computer.
4. Choose the matching NuQloud folder.
5. Confirm the sync direction and folder choices.

Avoid Sync Problems

• Do not sync the same local folder with multiple cloud accounts.
• Avoid syncing temporary build folders, cache folders, or huge generated directories.
• Let large uploads finish before shutting down the computer.
• Check the sync app status icon when files do not appear.
• If there is a conflict file, open both versions and keep the correct one.

Use the PWA for the full NuQloud interface and decentralized features.

Use desktop sync for automatic local folder synchronization.

You probably want both on your main computer.
