# Install NuQloud as a Desktop App
The NuQloud PWA turns the web interface into an app-like window on your computer. This is the recommended desktop experience until native NuQloud desktop apps are available.
## Why Install the PWA
- Opens like a normal desktop app.
- Keeps NuQloud separate from your everyday browser tabs.
- Makes the Dashboard, Files, Talk, and NuQloud Apps easier to access.
- Helps avoid losing your place when you close browser windows.
## Recommended Browsers
Use a Chromium-based browser if possible.

## Mobile Browser Notes

| Android | Chrome, Edge, Brave, Samsung Internet | Use the browser menu or NuQloud install button when available. |

2. Sign in.
3. Open the Dashboard.
4. Click Install NuQloud App.

5. Accept the browser install prompt.
6. Launch NuQloud from your app launcher, Start menu, dock, or desktop.
## Check App Readiness
The NuQloud install page can also show readiness checks for:
- Installed app state.
- Service worker status.
- Notification permission.
- Push subscription status.
- Last received notification.
Use the refresh/re-register and test notification actions if your provider has push notifications configured.
## Install With Safari on macOS
1. Open NuQloud in Safari.
2. Sign in.
3. Choose File, then Add to Dock.
4. Confirm the name NuQloud.
5. Launch NuQloud from the Dock or Launchpad.
## If the Install Button Does Not Appear
Try this:
1. Use Chrome, Edge, Brave, or Chromium.
2. Refresh the Dashboard.
3. Check the browser address bar for an install icon.
4. Open the browser menu and look for Install NuQloud or Install app.
5. Make sure you are signed in over HTTPS.
## Best Practice
Even if you use another browser for everything else, install one Chromium-based browser just for NuQloud. It keeps the PWA experience cleaner and more predictable.
