# Decentralized Apps and Browser
NuQloud includes access to decentralized apps through the NuQloud Apps area.
These apps use Qortal-compatible requests through NuQloud, with approval prompts for sensitive actions.
## What You Need
Some apps only need viewing access.
Apps that publish, send messages, or use identity features may require:
- A linked decentralized account.
- A registered name.
- Publishing credits.
- Approval for the app action.
## Open NuQloud Apps
1. Open the Dashboard.
2. Open NuQloud Apps.
3. Choose an approved app from the list.
4. Wait for it to load.
If full browser mode is enabled, you may also open other `qortal://` addresses.
## Registered Name
A registered name identifies you for many decentralized features.
You may need a registered name to:
- Publish app data.
- Use Q-Mail.
- Publish websites or files.
- Be found by name in Qortal-compatible apps.
## Publishing Credits
Publishing credits are used for actions that publish data to QDN or perform certain network operations.
If you are new:
1. Open the Dashboard.
2. Look for request initial credits or funding instructions.
3. Follow your provider's instructions.
4. Wait for confirmation before trying publish-heavy apps.
## Approval Prompts
When an app asks NuQloud to do something sensitive, NuQloud may ask you to approve it.
Examples:
- Publish data.
- Encrypt or decrypt private data.
- Send a message.
- Sign an action.
- Access account information.
Choose carefully. If you do not understand a request, cancel it.
## Extra Confirmation for High-Risk Actions
NuQloud adds an extra confirmation for higher-risk requests, even when your account is already unlocked.
Examples include:
- Sending credits or QORT.
- Signing transactions.
- Registering or updating names.
- Trade, asset, deploy, poll, and vote actions.
- Large multi-publish requests.
You can leave this protection enabled in your NuQloud account settings, or disable it if your provider allows that and you understand the risk.
## Approval Defaults
You can set your default unlock window in NuQloud account settings.
Available unlock windows include:
- 1 hour.
- 2 hours.
- 3 hours.
- 6 hours.
- 12 hours.
- 24 hours.
- 120 hours.
Use shorter windows for apps you do not fully trust.
## Opening qortal:// Addresses
If full browser mode is enabled:
1. Open NuQloud Apps.
2. Use the address field.
3. Enter a `qortal://` address.
4. Press Go.
If the address does not load, confirm:
- The name is correct.
- The resource exists.
- Your provider allows full browser mode.
- Your node or gateway is reachable.
